Today’s severe storm threat is very dependent on the amount of sunshine can develop in the wake of last night’s thunderstorm line.
Overall, current instability is forecast to be much weaker today as clouds are expected in hang around most of the morning and afternoon.
But if sunshine rules more, instability can reach more impressive levels by late afternoon.
The winds are weaker across the board today both at the surface and aloft but still in a range that would support a supercell or two if storms develop.
The development of any storms is tricky as a lack of any strong boundaries to help push storms up makes formation a bit hard to nail down.
Overall, worth a peek around noon or 1 pm which is what I’ll do!
