A wind and hail threat is possible across a portion of Missouri on Thursday.
The air will be plenty unstable. In a typical summer-time set-up, storms are expected to roll in from the northwest late tonight and become the focus for additional storms on Thursday.
The formations of storms late tonight is key. This will serve to knock down some of the warm air aloft, making it earlier for storms to develop later on Thursday. Boundaries left by storm outflows will help to focus more storms as well.
This is primarily a wind and hail threat.
