Back in 1986, I did a series of reports on tornadoes for KOLR-10.
The graphics were very crude by today’s standards! Sixteen colors only on any screen. Some limited animation. I designed all of the screens myself.
I was green of course back then so the first report is just tornado facts. The second focuses more on how tornadoes form. The third is promotional for the most part.
The radar images were pre-doppler (NEXRAD 88D) and had very little in the way of detailed geo-political references. The sharp-eyed viewer will also notice that back then, the radar was located in Monett (UMN), Missouri!
A brief “team appearance” shot of Peter Bernard describing a weather watch also appears in the final part.
