7 am Weather Map/Temperatures

Cool morning out there!  Preliminary lows: Springfield 56, Rolla 54, Lake Ozark 54.  This compares to some of the cool air arrivals in early June.

Yesterdays high of only 83 was the coolest since June 21 (a cloudy day with showers, FYI) so it’s quite a cool-down.

We’ll stay in the eighties again today and push to near ninety on Sunday. In all, pretty enjoyable weekend weather!

Rain chances are coming back albeit a bit lacking in coverage and totals.  This will be along a cool front Monday. What little does fall should be better organized to the south and east of Springfield.

Another small but effective bubble of high pressure Tuesday/Wednesday will keep our temperatures in line.  In fact, I don’t see any extreme temperatures in the forecast this week. The hottest days look to be Wednesday and Thursday.

Another front of some substance is heading into the area late Thursday and Friday.  I’m hoping this one stalls a bit to allow for more rain chances.  At this point, it looks like it will do just that but perhaps south of the Ozarks.  If this is right, the next weekend looks comparable to this one.

In the tropics, we might have T.S. Gordon this weekend but the storm looks disorganized as it continues its rather brisk pace to the west. If this holds up, the storm poses no threat to the mainland U.S.

Also, the viewing this weekend for the Perseid Meteor Shower is excellent!
