1-3 Day Expected Rain

Like last week, the middle of this week has featured cool mornings and warm afternoons. Also like last week, temperatures will be heading upward on Friday and into the weekend.

A ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will be controlling our weather for the next several days.  As is typical in June, the jet stream winds are strongest over the northern U.S., keeping fronts and organized rain and thunderstorm areas at arms length from the Ozarks.

There are several possibilities of “leftover” rain areas approaching the Ozarks.  One is Friday night, perhaps another over the week.  In both cases, the best chance for rain is over the western and central portions of Missouri.

Much of early next week looks pretty warm.  A front does have a shot at moving through by late in the week.
