It has been a banner week for rain in the Ozarks! There have been some flooding problems but overall, the rain was delivered quite nicely to the area and is always welcome in the spring!
Springfield so far is in a rainfall light area compared to the rest of the Ozarks with a total for the week of 2.15″ The map insert shows the heaviest rain areas as of this writing are in portions of Newton and McDonald Counties and also (as of last night’s rain) sections of Wright, Douglas, Ozark and Baxter (AR) Counties. These areas may have had over 6″ of rain in localized spots. Large portions of the Ozarks got over 3″ of rain, shaded yellow on the map.
Joplin has about 5.12″ and West Plains around 3.00″ for the week so far.
More rain is expected today!
FYI: This rain information is always available here for any part of the U.S.
